A head-on collision on Florida State Road 60 between two Ford F250s early on the morning of Dec. 20 in Hillsborough County left one driver dead and the other critically injured. The Florida Highway Patrol announced that the eastward lanes of State Road 60 were closed for the remainder of the morning as a result of the accident.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 39 killed two people and injured four others. The Dec. 13 incident reportedly occurred within the unincorporated community of Lithia at approximately 7 p.m.
One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Florida's Okaloosa County that also left another driver critically injured on Dec. 11. The passengers in both vehicles were also injured in the accident.
The driver of a Ford pickup truck and his passenger were killed in a head-on collision in Clay County on Nov. 28, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The two occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash were transported to University of Florida Health Jacksonville for treatment of injuries they suffered in the accident. The FHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
A couple returning from a Thanksgiving dinner with friends was killed when an alleged drunk driver slammed into their car in St. Petersburg on Nov. 27. The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. on the corner of Central Avenue and 34th Street.
